On January 22, at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin and the President of the Russian Special Olympics Olga Slutsker took part in the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics United Games.

On 22 January before the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics United Games, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin and the President of the Russian Special Olympics Olga Slutsker met athletes and coaches of the team of the republic, comprising 95 athletes, participating in competitions in 15 kinds of sports, and 18 coaches.

On 22 January Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin and Tatarstan President Aleksey Pesoshin took part in an expanded meeting of the regional Sports Ministry collegium.

In his report regional Minister of Sports Vladimir Leonov informed that 8 athletes from Tatarstan took part in the 24th Winter Olympics held in Beijing, five of them winning Olympic medals. 

On 21 January, speaking at a videoconference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with all municipalities of the republic and with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov informed that by the results of 2022 the amount of regional agribusiness products export made 417m dollars which was by 6.9 per cent more compared to 2021. 

On 21 January, speaking at a videoconference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with all municipalities of the republic and with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported about work done within federal and regional programmes,  and which already have won the auctions.

On January 20, during his working visit to Ashkhabad, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov. Minnikhanov thanked Turkmenistan President for his attention to the development of bilateral cooperation with Tatarstan, aimed at strengthening relations between Russia and Turkmenistan. The parties discussed issues of developing trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan.

On January 20, during his working visit to Turkmenistan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of laying a foundation stone of a new mosque in the city of Arkadag.

The mosque, where 5.5 thousand people will be able to pray at the same time, will be built in the new administrative centre of the Akhal province. The construction of Arkadaga - the first «smart city» in the country was launched in 2019. About 70 thousand people will live there.

On 19 January, speaking at a ceremony opening the XVIII All-Russia competitions for the Tatarstan Prime Minister’s Cup in fire-rescue sport, held in Kazan, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleyeva wished all teams sports luck, and new feats both in sports and life. She thanked participants of the competitions for saving human lives by shaping their skills and wished every team to win.

On 19 January Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working visit to Ashgabat, had a meeting with the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. 
Later today Rustam Minnikhanov, as a member of a Russian delegation, is taking part in the Russia-Turkmenistan business forum.

On January 18, at the site of Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, speaking at a summing up meeting of Tatarstan Ministry of Health on the results of its work in 2022 and tasks for 2023, with participation of First Deputy Minister of Health Victor Fisenko, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that in 2022, significant funds were allocated for the development of healthcare in Tatarstan in a total amount of more than 104 billion roubles, including over 10 billion for the construction, reconstruction, overhaul and supply of medical equipment to healthcare institutions. The work on strengthening the material and technical base at 1277 facilities was carried out.
