On 17 August, speaking at a meeting held with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic, with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov informed that about 80 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the affected residents of Kursk region was collected in Tatarstan in a week. He said that the aid included food, household chemicals, medicine, clothes, home appliances and construction materials and thanked representatives of business and labour teams who took part in collecting the aid and for their decision to donate money via a charity fund. It is a handsome sum of money and we are grateful to them for their cooperation, he said.

On 15 August at their meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Cyril discussed current work of the Metropolis of the republic preservation and development of Orthodox culture and spiritual and moral values and restoration of religious facilities, in particular the restoration of the complex of the Kazan Virgin Monastery.

On 15 August at his meeting with teaching dynasties of the republic held with participation of the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev and the Chairman of the regional State Council Farit Mukhametshin on the sidelines of the regional August meeting of education and science employees in the settlement of Usady of Laishevo region of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked teachers for their dedicated service to their profession. “Teaching dynasties are the pride of our republic. The teacher is not just a profession, but a real vocation, demanding sincere love of your work. You are passing dedication to the teacher’s work to your children and grandchildren,” he said.

On 15 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a regular regional August meeting of education and science employees, dedicated to the topic “Leadership in education” and held in a multi-profile lyceum Innovatika in the settlement of Usady of Laishevo region of the republic.

On 15 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, heads of Ministries and departments of regional enterprises, heads of cities and regions and school directors and teachers will take part in a regular regional August meeting of education and science employees,  dedicated to the topic “Leadership in education” and held in a multi-profile lyceum Innovatika in the settlement of Usady of Laishevo region of the republic.

The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has transferred part of his salary to affected peaceful residents of Kursk. His initiative was supported by employees of the Office of the Rais of the republic, the Offices of the State Council and the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan who will also transfer their on-day payment to support the affected compatriots.

On 13 August, speaking at a briefing dedicated to compliance with regulations of small boat navigation held in Tatarstan Government House will all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Chief State Inspector on small boats Yuriy Venediktov informed that more than one thousand violations of small boat navigation regulations are revealed in the republic every year, and as of today there have been 658 of them.

On 13 August in Kuala-Lumpur the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working trip to Malaysia, had a meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim.

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to Mister Anwar Ibrahim for hospitality given to the delegation of Tatarstan and said: “It is important that Russia-Malaysia contacts at the highest level are kept on a regular basis. Your country is a reliable partner of Russia.”

On 13 August the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working trip to Malaysia, paid a visit of courtesy to the King of Malaysia His Highness Sultan Ibrahim.

Welcoming the King of Malaysia, Rustam Minnikhanov especially emphasized that currently Russia and Malaysia are connected by strong ties of friendship, traditions of respect and trust.
