On 19 May at their meeting at the Kazan Expo on the sidelines of the XIII International Economic Summit Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022, Tatarstan President  Rustam Minnikhanov, The State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev and the Chairman of the regional State Council Farid Mukhametshin took part in a meeting of Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maksim Reshetnikov and the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, where the parties discussed development of trade and economic cooperation between their countries and considered promising projects with participation of Russian business being implemented in different spheres of economy in Turkmenistan.

On 19 May, speaking at a plenary session of the International Economic Summit Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022 held in Kazan, the Chairman of the World Halal Day Muhammad Ali Jinnah proposed to establish a Halal-hub in Tatarstan.

The session, moderated by Yusuf Erim, the Chief Editor of TRT World from Turkey, was dedicated to the common consumption economy and the universal benefit of Halal and included such topics as Islamic finances and partner banking, Halal industry, youth diplomacy, development of export and entrepreneurship and investments.

In his message of greetings to participants and organizers of the events dedicated to 1100th anniversary of adopting Islam by the Volga Bulgaria, Russian President Vladimir Putin said:

 “I offer you my heartfelt greetings and congratulations on the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria, which is an important event for the Muslim ummah of Russia and the world, and, of course, for our entire country.

In his message of greetings to participants and organizers of the XIII International economic summit “Russia-Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022”  and of the meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic World”, read out at the opening of the plenary session of the summit by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

On 18 May upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow was met by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.  

On 19 May in his welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the international exhibition of Halal industry “Russia Halal Expo”, which was organized on the sidelines of the 13th International economic summit “Russia-Islamic World: KazanSummit”, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the KazanSummit is the main and the only platform of economic interaction of Russian regions and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Russia.

On 18 May at their meeting at the Innopolis University, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, a delegation from the Gazprom Transgas Tomsk headed by the Director General of the company Vladislav Borodin and the administration of the University discussed implementation of joint projects within the 2022-2023 road map.

On 18 May, during his working trip to Moscow Tatarstan President Rustam Mnnikhanov had a meeting with the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Fund of Territories Development Sergey Stepashin where they discussed important issues of complex development of territories and modernization of the housing and utilities sector, building efficient mechanisms of controlling the housing fund and implementation of energy saving technologies.

On 18 May Tatarstan President Rustam Minnihanov, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and heads of all Duma fractions took part in an official ceremony of opening an exhibition at the State Duma dedicated to the 1100 anniversary of adopting Islam by the Volga Bulgaria.
