On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic,   has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.

On 3 January on the errand from the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety of the republic , held an urgent meeting of the Commission which discussed readiness of  forces and means to ensure security during the New Year and Christmas holidays. 

On 3 January, speaking at a regional meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minikhanov stated that is important that all planned events during New Year holidays are held at a proper level with ensuring safety measures.

He informed that all events dedicated to the New Year celebrations in the cities and districts of the republic, in general, passed without major incidents. “However we had certain troubles with enemy UAV raids.  It should be noted that the military did a very good job. Preventative measures to prepare facilities minimized the risks that could occur as a result of these attacks,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized.

On 30 December in his address dedicated to the coming New Year, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov wrote: “There is very little time left until the New Year. We celebrate this holiday with good hopes and faith in the best, remembering the moments of the past year, summing up the results and making plans for the future.

On 29 December, speaking at a briefing held in Tatarstan Government House on issues of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of road services and housing and communal services during the holidays, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Damir Shaydullin said that during the holidays special attention will be given to providing heat supply to apartment buildings. 

On 27 December the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, the Minister of Transport of the country Andrey Nikitin, representatives of the manufacturers and suppliers of the aircraft new systems and other officials took part in a festive ceremony held at the Kazan Aircraft Plant after the Tu-214 plane has been issued the certificate of Approval of the main change to its standard design.

On 27 December, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held with all municipalities via videoconference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that issues of ensuring safety of citizens come to the forefront during celebrations of the New Year and Christmas.

On 26, speaking at his meeting with the Chairman of the AAOIFI Board of Trustees Sheikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa who came to take part in events dedicated to the opening of the AAOIFI representative center in Kazan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that opening of the center is an important event as it will become a backbone hub for the development of partnership financing standard not only in Russia but all across the CIS countries. The center will become a key link in the integration of Islamic financial instruments into the economies of countries and strengthening ties with the  expert community of the Commonwealth, he stated.

On 26 December at their meeting in the Government House of the republic held with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Oleg Korobchenko, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gennadiy Abramenkov discussed issues of further development of economy of the region and the modernization and development of production capacities of a number of industrial enterprises of the republic.

On 25 December in Moscow the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of the Russian State Council held by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The main issues was training specialists for economy of the country, and, speaking at the meeting, the Russian President emphasized that this issue is related to literally every region and branch of economy. “Personnel issues are not only comprehensive, they are the main ones today, fundamental for the development of our country,” he said.
