On 17 March the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the 17th session of the regional State Council where its Chairman Farid Mukhametshin declared his early termination of powers.  “This decision was deliberate and considered. In politics, as in any field, there must be continuity. The past 30 years, during which I have been at the helm of the parliament, have been for me a period of great responsibility, intense work and, at the same time the period filled with pride for our parliament, for our republic and for those who by their work make a substantial contribution into the development of the native republic – a backbone region of Russia,” Farid Mukhametshin said.

On 17 March, speaking at a meeting of the State Council of the republic, where its Chairman Farid Mukhametshin declared his early termination of powers, Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev said: “Mutual respect and deep understanding help to preserve high trust of our people.” 

On 14 March at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held with all municipalities by videoconference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave a number of errands.

In particular he reminded that next Friday on 20 March Muslims will celebrate the Eid al-Fitr (Uraza-bayram) holiday and gave an errand to heads of municipalities, mukhtasibs of the regional Muslims Spiritual Board together with law-enforcement bodies  to take all necessary measures to ensure public law and order and safety in religious institutions where festive services are held.

On 13 March the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev accompanied by the regional Mufti Kamil Samigullin took part in the XIV Iftar of the republic organized by the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Tatarstan, the administration of the Ak Bars Arena stadium and the national tourist complex Tugan Avylym (My Native Village) at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center.

On 13 March, during his phone conversation with His Majesty King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that he as the Chairman of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-the Islamic World” is   concerned about the situation currently developing around the Middle East. The parties agreed on the need to end hostilities and return to negotiations.

On 13 March at their meeting in Innopolis before an extended meeting of the Volga-Kama Interregional Directorate of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources ( Rosprirodnadzor) dedicated to results of 2025, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Head of the  Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova discussed the development of cooperation in environmental protection, applied aspects of compliance with environmental requirements in the work of enterprises and other issues. 

On 13 March the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding the International Forum Kazan Digital Week – 2026 held by the Russian Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksud Shadaev by videoconference.

On 12 March within the framework of the cultural and educational project the Ramadan Tent, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a charity Iftar traditionally held at the Memorial Mosque on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.  

This year the Iftar was organized by the Plenipotentiary representative office of Tatarstan in Moscow with the support from the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia.

On 12 March the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited Russian University of Cooperation in Mytishchi in Moscow which is the main educational and scientific center of the cooperative education system in Russia with many years of experience in training specialists.

 The University is among top ten economic higher educational institutions of the country and the main supplier of personnel for the trade and consumer cooperative sectors, having its branches all over Russia from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka.

On 11 March, at their meeting in the Government House of the republic held with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Director General of the United Aircraft Corporation Vadim Badekha discussed the progress of modernization and technical re-equipment of the Kazan Aircraft Plant, which is a branch of the Tupolev Company, for expanding production of TU 214 planes. Today, the plant is carrying out extensive work on the construction and commissioning of new production facilities and in the future it is planned to increase the production of TU-214 up to 20 planes a year.
