On 17 April in the Kazan Kremlin the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minikhanov had a meeting with a delegation of diplomatic missions of foreign countries to Russia held with participation of representatives of embassies of China, Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Philippines .

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the Russian Foreign Ministry for having organized the trip of the delegation to the republic and emphasized that international cooperation is one of the key factors of the sustainable development and prosperity of countries and regions.

On 16 April, welcoming his guests at a meeting with Russian cosmonauts Aleksandr Kaleri, Yuriy Usachev and Rafail Murtazin in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minikhanov said: “It is a great honor for us to welcome such respected people – Russian cosmonauts – to the republic.”

On 16 April at their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin held with participation of the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, the Plenipotentiary representative of the republic to Turkey Ayart Gataullin and other officials, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Polymeks holding Erol Tabanca discussed further development of cooperation and implementation of promising projects.

On 16 April, speaking at a meeting of the Council by the Rais of the republic on Education and Science, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that all universities and scientific organizations of the republic have been actively participating in achieving the national goal of ensuring the technological leadership set by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2024.

“To implement regional initiatives, approximately 3.2 billion rubles have been allocated in areas critical to the domestic economy: means of production and automation, food security, new materials and chemistry, health protection, and a multi-satellite formation,” he said and gave examples of projects being implemented by such regional universities as the Kazan National Research University and the Kazan Aircraft University.

On 15 April at their meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Rectors of leading universities of Russia discussed issues of cooperation of the republic with higher education institutions of the country, the improvement of the higher education system and strengthening of the scientific and educational potential at the regional level.

On 15 April the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the 20th session of Tatarstan State Council held with participation of the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaymiev and the agenda of which consisted of 15 issues including six regional laws, one federal draft law and three legislative initiatives.

On 15 April at their meeting in the Government House of the republic the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Russian Deputy Minister of Justice Vadim Balanin and the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Construction Project Expertise Leonid Stavitsky discussed issues of interaction in a number of spheres including improvement of the system of construction projects expertise.

On 15 April at their meeting in the Government House of the republic held with participation of the Tatarstan Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiahmetov and the Head of the Directorate of the Volga-Vyatka Main Branch of the Bank of Russia for the republic Marat Sharifullin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Head of the Volga-Vyatka Main Branch of the Bank of Russia Andrey Popov discussed issues related to the current economic situation in the republic.

On 14 April, speaking at his meeting with the Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Madbouli in Cairo, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov informed him about a fruitful meeting with the President of Egypt he had, emphasizing that Russia traditionally is a reliable partner of Egypt in the sphere of food security.

In his turn the Prime Minister noted the special role of Rustam Minikhanov as the Chairman of the “Russia-the Islamic World Strategic Vision Group. “Your today’s meeting with the President is a sign of good relations between our states,” he said and emphasized: “I congratulate you with Kazan being awarded the status of the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2026. Preservation of cultural heritage is important work and we are always ready to work together with you. I wish you a successful KazanForum.” 

On 14 April in Cairo the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who, welcoming his guest, stated that he has warm feelings for Russian President Vladimir Putin and is sincerely pleased with the friendly relations with Tatarstan. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated Rustam Minnikhanov on Kazan being awarded the status of the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2026 and expressed interest in cooperation in the field of culture.
