Rais of Tatarstan takes part in a meeting on issues of organizing a solid municipal waste management system

On 9 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Aleksandr Kozlov, the Head of the Posprirodnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources of Russia) Svetlana Radionova , Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and representatives of related ministries, companies and the Federal Assembly took part in a meeting of the Incident N58 “Organization a solid municipal waste management system” held by  the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Dmitriy Patrushev during his working trip to Tatarstan.

Speaking at the meeting, Dmitriy Patrushev stated that that in the coming years a large number of infrastructure facilities will need to be built in the country and today several (waste) recovering projects have already been implemented. He called for a serious increase in the dynamics of work and said that this will require an inventory of each facility in terms of its design documentation, the quality of contractors' work, the support measures provided, and adherence to schedule.

“The overall control must be ensured not only for large construction projects but also for other spheres which have already approved “road maps”. In particular in 2025 the entities purchased more than 62 thousand large container swith 63 thousand more to be purchased in the current year. The modernization of the special equipment fleet also continues. The preferential leasing mechanism has been a major support here as all these made it possible to purchase about 1 500 garbage trucks and other equipment, “Dmitriy Patrushev emphasized.

In conclusion the Russian Deputy Prime Minister set a task of creating a working group in each region that will travel to the sites, record the status of construction projects and promptly resolve any problems that arise. He also gave an errand to keep under special control the garbage removal situation during the recreation season to prevent failures and collapses.
