Rais of Tatarstan: Under management of Vitaliy Yegorovich Kopylov the Kazan Aircraft Plant has become a flagship of the branch

On 12 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a ceremonial event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the former Director General of the Kazan Aircraft Plant Vitaliy Kopylov held by the Kopylov bust at the intersection of Pobezhimova and Kopylov streets in Kazan, where he said that under management of Vitaliy Yegorovich Kopylov the Kazan Aircraft Plant has become a flagship of the branch.

The Rais of the republic congratulated participants of the event with the Russia Day and noted that this holiday symbolizes unity of our people, pride for the country, its history and people who by their labour have strengthened economic and defense might of the state.

“Vitaliy Kopylov, who was born in a simple farmer’s family, was one of these people. Due to his purposefulness, profound knowledge and strong character he became the CEO of the largest aircraft plants of the country, having forever inscribed his name into history of domestic aircraft building,” he said and added that under Vitaliy Kopylov the Kazan Aircraft Plant reached great success in aircraft building and implemented large scale projects in production modernization.

Rustam Minnikhanov also mentioned numerous public positions of Kopylov and his state awards.

“Today, celebrating the 100th birthday of Vitaliy Kopylov we pay tribute to him as an outstanding leader and a gifted organizer as well as to the whole generation of creators who laid foundations to the industrial might of our country,” he added and expressed his confidence that following traditions laid by Kopylov, the Kazan Aircraft Plant will be able to reach new heights and to achieve important victories for the good of the Fatherland.

In the end of the event Rustam Minnikhanov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Konstantin Kopylov, who is the son of Vitaliy Kopylov, and old stagers of the Kazan Aircraft Plant laid flowers to the bust of the famous Director.
