Rais of Tatarstan: Russia-ASEAN Summit is a large scale and very important international event for our country

On 13 June, speaking at a regional meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the Russia-ASEAN Summit the capital of the republic will host on 17-19 June, which is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of relations between Russia and the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations, is the most important event of the current year.

“The leadership of the country and personally the Russian President Vladimir Putin entrusted Tatarstan with hosting this large-scale and very significant international event for our country.  It is a great honor and a huge responsibility for each of us,” he said.

The Rais of the republic stated that the regional operational headquarters together with colleagues from the federal center have taken all organizational measures, defined the Summit events venues and assigned heads of regional bodies to delegations. Schedules for the arrival and departure of guests and programs for their stay in the republic are being worked out, he said.

“The absolute priority is to ensure security at all levels, both in Kazan and throughout the republic as a whole. The task of all heads of municipalities and regional power bodies is to eliminate any incidents in the operation of life support systems in cities and regions. It is important to ensure well-coordinated work of all operational services, enterprises of the housing and communal services and road transport complexes, energy, security systems, especially in children health camps,” Rustam Minnikhanov added.
