On 11 May, speaking at a traditional Saturday meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “May 9 we with the whole country celebrated the 79th anniversary of the Victory of Soviet people in the WWII and 217 thousand people took part in festive events in all cities and regions of the republic. I would like to thank law-enforcement bodies, heads of municipalities and all organizers from ministries and directorates who were involved in holiday events.”

On 11 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that as of 11 May the housing construction plan has been fulfilled by 60 per cent in the republic with 1m 888thousand square meters of housing already commissioned.

On 10 May, speaking his meeting in the Kazan Kremlin with the President of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embalo, who came on a one day visit to Kazan, thanked his guest for the visit, which is especially important under current complicated international situation, and emphasized that relations between Russia and Guinea-Bissau are traditionally friendly. In October last year the diplomatic relations between the countries celebrated the 50th birthday.

On 10 May the President of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embalo, who came to Kazan during his visit to Russia, accompanied by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov attended Kazan Federal University where he talked to students from his country, who are currently studying at the university, and during the tour round the university was told about its history.

On 10 May the President of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embalo, who came on a visit to Kazan during his trip to Russia, accompanied by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov attended the Rameyev IT-Park in Kazan where he got acquainted with the capacities of the Park in the high tech sphere, looked round a number of platforms including those designed for children.

On 9 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and WWIII veterans and homefront workers and heroes of the special military operation took part in the event dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) with the parade of the Kazan Garrison on the Millennium Square in Kazan.

On 9 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev accompanied by the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and representatives of a number of youth organizations attended the Victory Park in Kazan and laid flowers to the Eternal Flame by the Memorial of Glory.

On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin accompanied by the Head of his Office Shamil Gafarov paid homage to Soviet soldiers buried at the Arsk cemetery in Kazan and together with war veterans and other participants of the ceremony laid flowers and wreaths to the monument of the Soldier-the Last Man Standing.
