Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a meeting of organizing committee on preparation of the International Forum “Russia-the Islamic world: KazanForum” in 2026

On 23 September, speaking at a meeting of the organizing committee on preparation of the International Forum “Russia-the Islamic world: KazanForum”  held by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin in Moscow with all responsible ministries, directorates and number of Russian regions taking part in it via videoconference, the Rais (Head ) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov  said: ”We can see the growing interest of domestic and foreign colleagues to the International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic world: KazanForum” the aim of which is to be a point of meeting, a dialogue and cooperation of our country and the Islamic world.”

After the introductory speech of Marat Khusnullin, Rustam Minnikhanov reported about the results of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic world: KazanForum “held in 2025 and the preparations of the republic for hosting the forum in 2026.

He expressed gratitude to the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Government of the country and the Roscongress Fund for successful organization of the forum in 2025 and informed: “Representatives from 96 countries of the world, 82 entities of Russia and international institutions, including the OIC, the League of Arab States and the World Islamic League took part in the forum this year which had more than 200 various events such as sessions and signing more than 130 agreements.”

The Rais of the republic said that the plenary session of Ministers of Culture of the OIC member-countries, where representatives from 17 countries discussed issues of cultural identity and interaction under the conditions of globalization, was one of the most important events at the forum and reminded that the coming KazanForum 2026 will take place under the landmark event of Kazan having been given the status of the cultural capital of the Islamic world.

He expressed the opinion that this event should be reflected in the agenda of the KazanForum and the meeting of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia – the Islamic World".

After having discussed such issues as the dates of the coming forum, the development of the business agenda and the like, the members of the organizing committee stated that by joint efforts the KazanForum will be organized at a traditionally high and proper level.
