On 15 May upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim, who came to Kazan to take part in the events of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum-2025”, was welcomed by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minniokhanov and the Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin. 

On 16 May, speaking at his meeting with the Chairman of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Finance Institutions (AAOIFI)  Board of Trustees H.E. Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa on the sidelines of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum-2025” held at the Kazan Exhibition Center, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov  emphasized that the AAOIFI is the traditional participant of the forum which this year for the first time has organized an offside international conference on partnership financing.

On 16 May, speaking at his meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of the Afghanistan Government mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar on the sidelines of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum-2025”, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the delegation from Afghanistan for visiting Tatarstan and taking part in the 16th Kazan Forum. “I am sure that the visit of the representative Afghan delegation and its participation in the forum will facilitate the development of our interaction,” he said. 

On 15 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov , the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Marat Khusnullin and the Deputy Secretary General of the OIC Ahmad Kaves Sengendo took part in a solemn opening of the  XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum” and the Russia Halal Expo 2025 and the Kazan Exhibition Center. 

On 15 May  at their meeting on the sidelines of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum” at the Kazan Exhibition Center, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the  SIBUR Management Board member Pavel Lyakhovich and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Polyplastik Group Company Lev Gorilovsky  discussed such issues as the implementation of the “Warm Country” project and the development of a comprehensive approach to the programme of the communal structure modernization.

On 14 May, speaking at his meeting with the Hebron Governor Khaled Dudin (Palestine), who came to Kazan to take part in the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, in the Government house of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the whole humankind is following with great concern the dramatic events that continue in Palestine. “The position of our President Vladimir Putin concerning this situation is well known – Russia has always been for the implementation of solutions of the UN Security Council and first of all for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state, “he said.

On 14 May, speaking at his meeting with the Deputy Minister of Trade of Turkey Mahmut Gürcan, who came to Kazan to take part in the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, in the Government house of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan traditionally attaches great attention to the development of trade, economic and investments cooperation with Turkish partners.

On 14 May, speaking at his meeting with the Deputy Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates Abdullah Al-Saleh, who came to Kazan to take part in the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, in the Government house of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is interested in development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the UAE.

On 14 May, speaking at his meeting with participants of the forum of young diplomats from the OIC countries in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that such a Forum on the sidelines of the KazanForum has become a good tradition with more than 300 representatives from 40 countries having taken part in it for the whole history of the event. On top of that Kazan also hosted the Global Young diplomats Forum in 2022 and 2023 and last year it hosted the BRICS Summit. “You and your many colleagues helped to have these events at the highest level,” he said.

On 14 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Governor of Smolenks region Vasiliy Anokhin, the Russian Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Irek Fayzullin, the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhamtshin and other regional officials took part in a civil funeral ceremony of Almaz Akhmetshin held in Al-Marjani Mosque in Kazan.
