On November 11, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Aquatics Palace, where the Russian Short Course Swimming Championships (25m) takes place 7-12 November and welcomed its participants, coaches, organizers and guests of the tournament.

«I thank the Russian Water Sports Federation for its trust—it's a great honor for us to host such a prestigious sporting event. Water sports in the republic are actively developing. We see the Federation's significant efforts to make these sports available not only in major cities, but also in regional centers and our settlements. I assure you that Kazan will do everything to ensure that the championship is held at a high level», the Rais (Head) of the republic said.

The start in Kazan is significant for the Russian Aquatics Federation, which is celebrating its first anniversary. Last October, swimming, water polo, diving and synchronized swimming merged into one federation. Russian Aquatics Federation President Dmitry Mazepin praised the Aquatics Palace's capabilities for hosting competitions of all levels.

The national anthems of Russia and Tatarstan were then played. After that, the awarding ceremony took place.
