In his address on occasion of the Day of Official Adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated guests and residents of the republic with the holiday and said:

“More than eleven centuries ago in 922 our forefathers made their historical choice which predestined the Tatar people fate and influenced the development of the whole Muslim civilization.

In his condolences on occasion of the tragic death of Iran President Ebrahim Raisi, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “.

“With deep sadness people of Tatarstan have learned the news about the tragic death of Iran President Ebrahim Raisi and persons accompanying him in the helicopter crash in the East Azerbaijan Province.

On May 19, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, the Chairman of the Russian Muslims Spiritual Board Talgat Tadzhuddin, the Mufti of Russia Ravil Gaynutdin, the Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Kirill and also other religious leaders of Russia.

On May 18, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, the regional Deputy Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Milli Shura National Council Vasil Shaykhraziev, Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia Talgat Tadzhuddin, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gaynutdin and many other religious leaders of Russia took part in the plenary session of the XIV All-Russia Forum of Tatar religious leaders held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center. with participation of 1000 people from 70 regions of Russia.

On 17 May, speaking at his meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran for political affairs Ali Bagheri on the sidelines of the XV KazanForum, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Russian Federation and Iran are long-time and close partners, we are united by the common vision in resolving burning international problems. The cooperation of our countries gains special value and meaning under conditions of a crisis in international relations.”

On 17 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part at a panel session on the topic of partnership financing, the first outcomes of the experiment in four Russia entities and first assessments, held at the XV International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum 2024”, where he was asked to share his opinion about the progress of the experiment in the region and what is necessary to do for the development of partnership financing in Russia.

On 17 May, speaking at his meeting with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy of the UAE Abdullah Al Saleh on the sidelines of the XV KazanForum, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that at its level the republic actively facilitates strengthening of Russia-Emirates relations by organizing reciprocal visits of delegations and Tatarstan representatives taking regular part in the Dubai Investments Forum and the International Exhibition in Abu-Dhabi. “We always feel personal attention and support of developing our cooperation given by the President of the UAE, the Ruler of the Abu-Dhabi Emirate His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “he said. 

On 17 May at the representative building of the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, who is the UNESCO Good Will Ambassador, had a meeting with the Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) Dr. Salim Mohammed AlMalik, who came to Tatarstan to take part in the XV International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum 2024” being held in Kazan these days.

On 17 May on the sidelines of the XV KazanForum, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Board Chairman and the Director General of the DP World Company Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem.

DP World (Dubai Port World) – is one of the largest world logistics companies in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, that specializes in cargo logistics, port terminal operations, maritime services and free trade zones and handles 70 million containers that are brought in by around 70,000 vessels annually. This equates to roughly 10% of global container traffic accounted for by their 82 marine and inland terminals present in over 40 countries.

On 16 May at their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin,   the Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who currently is taking part in the XV International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum 2024”, discussed a number of issues of management of the World Heritage sites and certain aspects of preservation of the intangible heritage.
