Kazan is ready to host the football World Cup 2018 if Russia is selected as the hosting country of the tournament. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov stated during the inspection visit of the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) commission to the republican capital.

The project of football stadium for 45 000 places that is to be built in Kazan by Universiade 2013 has been presented to members of FIFA inspection commission. FIFA commission arrived in Kazan in order to assess facilities of the city for hosting World football championship 2018/22 in case Russia wins the right for conducting this sport event. FIFA commission has already visited Moscow and St. Petersburg and is going to head for Sochi.

FIFA inspection commission has arrived in the capital of Tatarstan – Kazan. Members of delegation were met by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, RT Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov, Director General of Executive directorate of XXVII World summer universiade 2013 Vladimir Leonov.

24 peat fires were registered in Tatarstan. Currently it makes no danger to settlements. 10 of them were liquidated, 2 ones have been recently extinguished, The situation is thoroughly controlled. This year due to abnormal heat worsening of epidemiological situation was marked by acute intestinal infections (mainly dysentery and salmonellosis) in Tatarstan. For 7 months this year 8605 cases of acute intestinal infections have been registered in republic. This rate is 16 times more in comparison with last year. High level of sickness was marked in Alekseevsky, Buinsky, Elabuzhsky, Pestrechinsky, Sabinsky and Tetyushsky regions.

August and September are traditionally months of high children traumatism on roads. According to statistical data 58 % of total number of road accidents with participation of children happen in this period. In connection with this, from August 16 till September 12 a preventive action “Attention! Children!” is being conducted in Tatarstan. It is realized by complex of measures on decreasing juvenile traumatism on roads.

The cooperation between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan will enhance, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his confidence at the meeting with Deputy Chairman if the Turkmenitan Government Nazarguly Shagulyev at the Kazan Kremlin on August 16. Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister – Informatization and Communication Minister Nikolai Nikiforov and heads of Tatarstan’s largest companies were present at the meeting.

Best volunteers from Tatarstan are taking part in first summer youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Young volunteers work as interpreters and in a group accompanying officials of national Olympic committees. Experience gained by Tatarstan volunteers during their work at sport competitions of international level will be used at maximum when preparing and holding summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan.

CEO of Russian Olympic committee Marat Bariev positively assessed organization and holding of first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore (Youth Olympic Games Singapore 2010). This was announced by him during visit to Olympic village of Singapore and conversations with Russian sportsmen and volunteers. A solemn ceremony of opening first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore was held on August,14 on floating scene in one of prestigious districts of Singapore - Marina Bay.
