Rustam Minnikhanov: Cooperation of Tatarstan and Turkmenistan will enhance

The cooperation between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan will enhance, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his confidence at the meeting with Deputy Chairman if the Turkmenitan Government Nazarguly Shagulyev at the Kazan Kremlin on August 16. Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister – Informatization and Communication Minister Nikolai Nikiforov and heads of Tatarstan’s largest companies were present at the meeting.

The Turkmen delegation led by Nazarguly Shagulyev arrived in Kazan on August 16. During the 3-day visit, the delegation will visit the IT-Park, the republic’s largest companies such as the Shipbuilding plant named after Gorky, Kazan Helicopter Plant, KAMAZ, Sollers, ElAZ and SEZ ALabuga.

The Tatarstan head greeted the Turkmenistan delegation and expressed gratitude to the Turkmenistan President for the warm reception to the Tatarstan delegation during the visit to Turkmenistan on August 1-2.

“Our cooperation will enhance thanks to our efficient projects. The first of them was the KAMAZ project, and it should keep being our leading project,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

The Tatarstan President also thanked the Turkmenistan leadership for signing the contract for developing oil wells in Turkmenistan by Tatarstan oilmen. “We should also develop a number of other projects in shipbuilding, aviation construction and tourism,” he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov recalled that during the visit to Turkmenistan he presented Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov with the Electronic Government system. AS your President said, you invited a foreign company to develop the similar system; but our structures are similar, we have the same number of ministries which makes it possible to adopt our Electronic Government system for your purposes, the Tatarstan President addressed the guests.
Rustam Minnikhanov also believes having cultural contacts is of big importance for Tatarstan and Turkmenistan and they should be further developed. He also said that the republic is interested in cooperation in the health sphere having several medical centres that Turkmenistan patients could attend.

The meeting resulted in signing a protocol setting up prospective direction for further cooperation between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan.
