At a presentation of results of the National ranking of investment climate in Russia on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, it has been reported that the Republic of Tatarstan ranks second after Moscow. Moscow region is on the third place.
The aim of the ranking, held by an errand from Russian President Putin by the Agency of Strategic Initiatives in promotion of new projects, is to develop equally favourable investments climate in all regions of Russia, and for seven years Tatarstan is among the first three leaders of the ranking.

On 17 June, speaking at his meeting with Uzbekistan Minister of Innovational Development Ibrohim Abdurahmonov on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: ”We have very good dynamics. Your national leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev actively facilitates our business relations”. He also paid special attention to such successful projects as the Chirchik Industrial Park.  
In his turn the Uzbek Minister said: “Thank you for your attention and support. We are always ready for cooperation. Today I am speaking at a plenary session about big challenges in science and technology, and we also cooperate with Tatarstan in this sphere”.

On 17 June, during his working trip to St Petersburg, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Welcoming the Kazakhstan President, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated him with the successful referendum on introducing amendments and additions to the Kazakhstan State Constitution and underlined the historical importance of the event for the country.
“Today Kazakhstan is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan and we are grateful for the attention to our issues and continuous readiness to facilitate implementation of joint projects”, he said.

On 16 June at their meeting on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Chairman of the Board of the Gaspromneft Company Aleksandr Dyukov discussed cooperation in oil and gas sphere and signed an agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and the company.
In the end of the meeting the Gaspromneft and the Tatnefl Oil Company signed a MOI on establishment of a branch robotics center, and the Gaspromneft and the Innopolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) signed an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of innovations.

On 16 June on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Federal Tourism Agency, Tatarstan, Mariy El, the Government of Ulyanovsk region and Samara regions as well as the Cabinet of Minister of Chuvashia signed an agreement on cooperation in implementation of the interregional tourist project “The Great Volga Way”. 
During the ceremony, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitriy Chernyshenko underlined that one of the points of the agreement was revival of the interregional river shipping system. The main idea of the project, which involves 7 Volga regions, is to establish a complex recreationally developed macro-territory and to provide it with modern river local and interregional transportation.
