On May 22, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Global Strategy and Leadership Development leader of "PricewaterhouseCoopers" Blair Sheppard within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

On May 22, at their meeting at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Head of Federal Service for Financial and Budget Supervision Alexander Smirnov and Head of Russian Federal Treasury Roman Artukhin discussed issues related to financial control in the republic as well as holding the international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Federal Financial and Budgetary Supervisory Service in Kazan.

On May 22, speaking at a session “Uniting Russia: results of technological and cost audit of justification of investments into construction of the first national Moscow - Kazan high-speed railway”, which was held within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Moscow - Kazan high-speed railway will join vast territories to employment areas and increase labour mobility.

In the evening of May 21, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived in Saint-Petersburg on a working visit to attend the XVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that will be held on May 22-24, 2014.

On May 21, at their meeting at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and Vice-President of Sberbank of Russia Denis Bugrov discussed prospects of further cooperation, issues of arrangement of multi-functional centers at Sberbank and programmes to support small-size business in Tatarstan in particular.

In 922, the historical event that in many respects predetermined the further development of Tatar people and its statehood took place. The adoption of Islam by our ancestors gave a great impetus to further cultural, economic and political development of Volga region and made us an integral part of the great Muslim civilization.

On May 21, at their meeting in Qingdao, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and First Secretary of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, Member of Shandong Province Party Committee Mr. Li Qun discussed promising areas of cooperation between Tatarstan and Shandong Province.
