On June 11, speaking at a solemn event dated to the Day of social worker in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that social workers do difficult and important work for our society, which is worthy of high moral and material appraisal and respect.

Before the event, Rustam Minnikhanov had visited an exhibition of advanced technologies and practices of social service.

Welcoming the participants of the event, Tatarstan President reminded that Tatarstan social workers won prizes at the IV All-Russian competition of social workers, the winners of which were awarded in Moscow on June 6.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the work done by social workers is very hard, but much needed. "There are 10,000 social workers in Tatarstan, servicing almost 1.5 million people. The average life expectancy is growing. It is good, but it also increases the workload of social workers," Tatarstan President said.

According to Rustam Minnihanov, the work done by social workers is in great demand and should be paid properly. "Probably, your work is undervalued, but, according to the Presidential decrees, we are working on increasing your wages and even a little ahead of the schedule in this regard," Tatarstan President said.

"The social support is not an easy job, not everyone can do it, and I would like to thank you. You are big-hearted people, who devote yourself to this work. We should value it,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President presented certificates to award the title "Honored Worker of Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan" to the most distinguished social workers of Tatarstan. Besides, he gave car keys to the Zagidullin family with many children.

The winners of the regional round of the competition of social workers were awarded at the event as well.
