On May 12, in the afternoon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working visit in Astrakhan, was met by Vice Governor – Chairman of the Astrakhan region Government Rasul Sultanov at the Astrakhan International Airport.

The president sent a telegram with greetings to the President of Volleyball Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of Dinamo sports society Asgat Safarov, President of volleyball club “Zenit-Kazan” Rafkat Kantyukov and chief coach of the team Vladimir Alekno.

On May 11, a big concert dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Kazan National Research Technical University – Kazan Aviation Institute was held at Piramida complex in Kazan. The university was founded by the decision of the main directorate of aviation industry of the people's commissariat of heavy industry on March 5, 1932.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of McDonald's Russia Khamzat Khasbulatov handed out memorable medals to 40 young football fans from the capital of Tatarstan giving them the right to take the players onto the pitch.

On May 11, at their meeting in the Government House of the republic,  Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Volga Interregional Environmental Prosecutor Veniamin Selifanov discussed a number of issues related to ensuring a favorable environmental situation in the republic, in particular, control over the placement and utilization of waste, suppression of illegal mining, compliance with the requirements for safe operation of hydraulic structures, and other topical issues.
