The foundation stone of educational building of Volga state academy of physical culture, sport and tourism was laid in Kazan on the territory of Universiade village. In the ceremony took part President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, RF Deputy minister of sport, tourism and youth policy Pavel Novikov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Head of RT Ministry of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov, RT Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov, Head of Universiade directorate Vladimir Leonov and other officials.

Turkmenistan is ready to buy more than a thousand KAMAZ trucks and special cars manufactured in Tatarstan. The statement was made by Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov at the meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on August 2. The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan led by Rustam Minnikhanov is on a two-day visit to Turkmenistan (1-2 August 2010).

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived in Turkmenistan with two-day visit. He was met by officials of Turkmenistan headed by the President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov congratulated Rustam Minnikhanov on appointment to the post of RT President and thanked him for contribution into strengthening cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan, Tatarstan and Turkmenistan. By words of Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov the present visit would favor expansion of mutually beneficial relations between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan.

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of International university sports federation (FISU) George Killian in Kazan Kremlin. We remind that President of FISU George Killian, Secretary General of FISU Erik Santron and member of FISU executive committee – President of Russian sport student union Oleg Matytsin arrived in the capital of Tatarstan by invitation of Rustam Minnikhanov.

Memorandum of intentions on creating International educational centre FISU in Russia has been signed in Moscow by President of International Sport University Federation (FISU) George Killian, RF Minister of sport, tourism and youth policy Vitaly Mutko, president of Russian student sports union Oleg Matytsin and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

A session on prevention and liquidation of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety in RT has been held in RT Cabinet by First vice-premier Ravil Muratov. At the beginning of session Ravil Muratov reminded that work on preventing emergency situation had been intensified not in all cities and regions of Tatarstan. In accordance with decision of commission starting from July,24 Chief administration of RF Ministry of emergency situations on RT has been conducting complex of actions aimed at ensuring fire safety in Tatarstan settlements for the period of abnormal hot weather.

The Republic of Tatarstan has always been the example of keeping forestry among Russian regions. This was said by Head of Federal agency of forestry Aleksey Savinov at the ceremony of laying of the foundation stone of forest seed-growing center in Sabinsky municipal region in Tatarstan. Midkhat Shagiakhmetov has been appointed to the post of RT Minister of economy by RT President Edict dated as of July, 28, 2010. RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov presented new head of the ministry to the staff. Marat Safiullin has been relieved from the position of RT Minister of economy in connection with transfer to another job.

RT First Vice-premier Ravil Muratov conducted a special session of republican commission on prevention and liquidation of emergency situations and ensuring of fire safety within the limits of RT President assignment. Members of commission fixed extraordinary measures on preventing fires in republic in connection with high temperatures and drought and measures on liquidation of possible fires.

Two bas-reliefs in memory of Tatarstan oil industry workers have been unveiled in Leninogorsk municipal region. RT President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the event. We remind that Head of Tatarstan has made a business trip to Almetyevsk and Leninogorsk regions of republic.
