On December 8, at their meeting in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Board Chairman of Zorlu Holding (Turkey) Ahmet Zorlu discussed creation of textile cluster based on polymer components using potential of the Republic of Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that raw material resources of the republic should be used in this prospective this area.

On December 8, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Senior Advisor to FIDE President, member of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Chess Federation Mintimer Shaimiev received a letter of thanks from the President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov for successful holding of the Russian Super Final Russian Chess Championship held from November 27 to December 7 in Kazan.
