On August 21, at the official residence of Tatarstan President at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova discussed issues of study and preservation of UNESCO World heritage sites in Tatarstan.

On August 21, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the conference of Judo Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan at Volga Academy of physical culture, sport and tourism (Kazan). Head of Russian Judo Federation Vasily Anisimov took part in the event.

On August 20, UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova, who arrived at Kazan International Airport, was met by State Counsellor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev. The main purpose of her trip is the presentation of the certificate about the inscription of the Dormition Cathedral and Monastery of the island town of Sviyazhsk in UNESCO World Heritage List. The solemn ceremony will be held at Piramida complex on August 21.

On August 19, during his working trip to the Turkish Republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Aegean Free Zone. The Director of the economic zone M. Senay Satoglu made a presentation and showed Rustam Minnikhanov around the economic zone.
