Today the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, RT Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin congratulated and awarded the best road sector workers, who took part in the overhaul of Salimzhanova and Gorky streets in Kazan.

Today, on the Republic Day and the Day of the city, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov presented state awards named after Gabdulla Tukai to the winners of 2012. The solemn ceremony was traditionally held in the square in front of the Tatar State Academic Theater named after G.Kamal. Waliullah Yakupov - the head of the educational department Spiritual Administration of Muslims - who was killed in an attack on July 19, 2011, awarded with the Order of Courage. Vladimir Putin gave an award to Waliullah Yakupov’s widow - Galina Aventeva.
