On 26, speaking at his meeting with the Chairman of the AAOIFI Board of Trustees Sheikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa who came to take part in events dedicated to the opening of the AAOIFI representative center in Kazan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that opening of the center is an important event as it will become a backbone hub for the development of partnership financing standard not only in Russia but all across the CIS countries. The center will become a key link in the integration of Islamic financial instruments into the economies of countries and strengthening ties with the expert community of the Commonwealth, he stated.

On 26 December at their meeting in the Government House of the republic held with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Oleg Korobchenko, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gennadiy Abramenkov discussed issues of further development of economy of the region and the modernization and development of production capacities of a number of industrial enterprises of the republic.
