Rustam Minnikhanov meets UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova at the Kazan Kremlin

On August 21, at the official residence of Tatarstan President at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova discussed issues of study and preservation of UNESCO World heritage sites in Tatarstan.

There are three UNESCO sites in the republic today, - the Kazan Kremlin, Bolgar historical and archeological complex, the Dormition Cathedral and Monastery of the island town of Sviyazhsk.

State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, Deputy Director of the Department of International Organisations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigoriy Ordzhonikidze, Ambassador-at-large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eleonora Mitrofanova, and other officials took part in the meeting.
