Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in opening ceremony of the 86th Izmir international exhibition


On August 20, during his working trip to the Turkish Republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the official opening ceremony of the 86th Izmir international exhibition.

Izmir international exhibition is the oldest exhibition in Turkey that has been held since 1932. It is organized by the Mayor’s Office of Izmir, Izmir international fair (İZFAŞ), Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), and Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of economy.

The exhibition is aimed at attraction of foreign investors in Turkish economy, establishment of business relations between foreign businessmen, participation of Turkey in the implementation of investment projects in other countries, organization of joint enterprise, and development of trade.

The main topics of the exhibition in 2017 are energy sector, renewable energy, green technologies, technoparks, IT, electronics, medicine, textiles, agriculture, robotics, and construction.

It was noted that 1.2 mln people, 400 companies from 27 countries took part in the event In 2016. The partner country was Malaysia. This year Russia was invited to be a partner country.

The biggest Russia’s exposition is aimed at the development of foreign economic cooperation between Russia and Turkey.

The exposition of the Republic of Tatarstan is divided into the presentation zone with LED screen, the presentation of industrial clusters “Made in Tatarstan”, the presentation of infrastructure “Invest in Tatarstan”, a closed negotiations room for 12 people, an open  negotiations room, and a bar area with national treats “Tyubetei”.

Tatarstan is presenting its potential in oil industry, oil, gas and power engineering, chemical and automotive industries, aircraft engineering, and shipbuilding. Innopolis and Alabuga Special Economic Zones, Priority Social and Economic Development Areas “Naberezhnye Chelny” and Innokam are presented in the infrastructure zone.
