Tatarstan President meets representatives of BMC Company

On August 18, during the 86th Izmir International Fair, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a business meeting with Board member of BMC Company Turgut Şenol.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minnikhanov reminded that he visited the company in 2015 and was impressed with its capabilities. He noted that today Tatarstan is actively developing and implementing large-scale infrastructure, industrial and sports projects. The republic is one of the leading industrial and agricultural regions of Russia. Tatarstan has been the leader of the national rating of the investment climate for the third year in a row, Minnikhanov said. 

The meeting discussed in more details the development of the automotive cluster of the Republic of Tatarstan, which is based on KAMAZ auto giant, Ford Sollers, ElaZ and car component manufacturers. General Director of KAMAZ Automaker Sergey Kogogin, who also took part in the meeting, expressed his interest in mutually beneficial cooperation with BMC company.

BMC is one of the largest commercial vehicle manufacturers in Turkey. The company was founded in 1964. Its products include buses, trucks, tractors, vans and other types of commercial and military vehicles.

As noted at the meeting, the company was bought by Turkish businessman Ethem Sancak, who is also the owner of a large national business holding Hedef Holding, for 751 million Turkish liras (360 million US dollars) in 2014.
