Rustam Minnikhanov meets managers of farms, investors and heads of rural settlements of Menzelinsk municipal region

On August 15, during his working visit to Menzelinsk municipal region, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov made a helicopter fly over the region's fields to inspect the course of harvesting works.

Minnikhanov was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov, Head of Menzelinsk municipal region Aidar Salakhov and other officials.

Near the village of Staraya Alexandrovka, Minnikhanov met managers of farms, investors and heads of rural settlements of the region. Regional farmers presented their products, including onions, garlic, young potatoes, beets, early cabbage and grains.

Speaking at the meeting, Salakhov reported that the total harvested area is 42,000 hectares of grain crops in the region. About 1,200 hectares, or about 3 per cent of the area, are harvested daily.

In his turn Akhmetov said that the region has achieved a good rate in terms of the grain harvest and should keep it.
