More than 15,800 budget-funded places made available for Tatarstan universities in 2017

On June 27, speaking at a briefing at Tatarstan Government House, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the republic Andrey Pominov said that a total of 15,806 budget-funded places, including bachelor's, specialist's and master's programmes, have been made available for Tatarstan universities in 2017.

According to the speaker, 115 of 15,806 budget places have been provided to non-state educational organizations.

As noted at the meeting, in 2016 the number of state-financed places at local universities made 16,056, including 124 places in non-state educational organizations.

In accordance with the state policy in the field of education aimed at optimizing the system of higher education, an insignificant decrease in the number of budgetary places (by 1.5 percent as compared to 2016) is observed mainly because of fewer places for admission to the humanities.
