Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in regional iftar

On June 15, in the evening, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the fifth regional iftar, which was held at the Kazan Tennis Academy.

Iftar began with the reading of Surahs of the Quran. The gathered broke their fast after the evening prayer.

Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil khazrat Samigullin told journalists that about 10,000 people took part in the regional Iftar.

The menu included pilaw, dried fruits, some cold and vegetable cuts, pastries, sweets.

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov, Minister of Health of the republic Adel Vafin, residents of the republic, as well as religious figures, including Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Theophan, Chief Rabbi of Tatarstan Yitzhak Gorelik took part in the event.

The regional iftar has been held in Tatarstan since 2013.
