Tatarstan President visits children's music school No. 5 in Kazan

On May 31, on the threshold of the International Children's Day, which is celebrated on the 1st of June, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the children's music school No. 5 in Kazan. The school has incredibly changed after major repairs last year and is one of the most professionally equipped music schools in the city and the only one with an organ class.

The capital repair, which was carried out using sponsorship funds by the contract organization “StroySoyuz Ltd.”, lasted for 3.5 months. And during this time the school changed beyond recognition.

Deputy Director General of the "StroySoyuz Ltd.” Yulia Vladimirova and Director of the music school Svetlana Suleimanova told Tatarstan President about the activities of the institution and made a tour around the school. Suleimanova noted that 512 children are studying and 56 teachers are working at the school. Since 2014, the school has been the base for rehearsals of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Tatarstan. The Rock School was opened at the music school in 2009, which now functions as a municipal budgetary cultural facility.

Minnikhanov appreciated the results of the overhaul, noting interesting design decisions.
