Rustam Minnikhanov invites Portuguese companies for participation in investment projects in Tatarstan

On May 30, at a business forum “Portugal-Tatarstan” at AICEP Portugal Global - Trade & Investment Agency in Lisbon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the Republic of Tatarstan is interested in attraction of Portuguese business and capital to the region, and will be glad to expand mutually beneficial relations.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked representatives of Portuguese business circles for the interest in the development of cooperation with Tatarstan.  

“Our delegation arrived in Portugal to learn more about its economic opportunities and present investment and innovative potential of Tatarstan.  On the regional level Tatarstan is ready to favour the development of relations between business circles and strengthening of Russia-Portugal relations. Tatarstan supplies fuel, rubber and wooden materials to Portugal.

Tatarstan is interested in supplying KAMAZ trucks, helicopters, passenger vessels, oil and gas products, mineral fertilizers, oil and gas producing equipment, and refrigerators to Portugal".  

Minnikhanov invited Portuguese companies for participation in investment projects in Tatarstan.

He informed that the implementation of large scale investment projects such as construction of the transport corridor “Europe-Western China” and Sviyazhsk interregional multi-modal logistics center , high-speed railway “Moscow-Kazan” will be continued in Tatarstan. Also, the Specialized Economic Zone “Alabuga” and Innopolis are located in the republic.

He also reminded that the match of Confederations Cup “Portugal-Mexico” will be held in Kazan on June 18, and Kazan will host FIFA World Cup in 2018.

“We are actively developing international cooperation and are willing to expand cooperation with Portuguese businessmen,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He invited  Portuguese businessmen to visit Tatarstan.

Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina presented the trade-economic and investment potential of the republic.  

The agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade and Space Silver Drones (Portuguese Aircraft Company), Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade and AmberTREE / Novermet-DP (energy company) were signed during the forum.
