Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal Luís Castro Henriques

On May 30, during his working visit to Lisbon, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with President of Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP) Luís Castro Henriques.

The Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal is a state-owned organization established in 2007. The agency is aimed at promoting the export of Portuguese goods, the entry of national companies into foreign markets and attracting foreign investment.

Minnikhanov invited Luís Castro Henriques and representatives of Portugal's business community to visit Tatarstan.

Minnikhanov thanked President of AICEP for interest in developing cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan.

Today, we need to maintain existing business contacts, the international political climate is bound to stabilize, and our task is to give the right signal to business, Minnikhanov said.

Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan is one of the leading and industrially developed regions of Russia. "We are aimed at creating an innovative economy, the most comfortable conditions for attracting foreign investment," he said. "We are actively developing foreign economic cooperation and are ready to interact with representatives of Portugal's business."

Tatarstan President also stressed that he appreciates the course taken by Lisbon to expand trade and economic relations. According to him, Tatarstan is interested in the experience of AICEP in attracting investments, working with companies, and modern approaches applied by the agency in general.

In his turn President of AICEP expressed confidence that there are ample opportunities for cooperation. "We are striving to create conditions for the development of Portuguese companies," he said.
