Tatarstan President lays flowers at the monument to Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay

On April 26, at Tukay Public Gardens in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov laid flowers at the monument to Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay on the occasion of the 131st anniversary of the birth of the great poet. 

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, members of the Government of Tatarstan, heads of ministries and departments of the republic took part in the event.

Later on today, the Musa Jalil Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theatre will host a solemn ceremony of awarding laureates of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after Gabdulla Tukay.
