A total of 197 facilities to be repaired under the programme of modernization of polyclinics in cities and regions for 2017-2018 in Tatarstan

On April 24, speaking at an extraordinary briefing at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Health Adel Vafin said that a two-year progamme aimed at modernization of city and municipal polyclinics in 2017-2018 has been launched in Tatarstan.

Today in the morning, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov approved the programme on modernization and development of primary health care facilities of the republic for 2017-2018 submitted by the regional Government.

At the beginning of the briefing, Vafin announced main indicators of the activities of healthcare institutions of Tatarstan. In particular, he said that 11,690 doctors are employed in the healthcare system of the republic. 

The total area of polyclinics is 520,000 square meters in Tatarstan, while in Kazan this figure makes 83,780 square meters, the Minister said.

Vafin continued that polyclinics should be client-oriented. This is the priority of the Friendly Polyclinic project. The goals of the project are accessibility, efficient use of resources, quality of medical care, and increased patient satisfaction.

The Minister said that a total of 43 institutions (75 facilities), servicing about 2 million people in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, and Almetyevsk, will be repaired under the programme of modernization of polyclinics in cities and municipal regions.

In 2018, as many as 73 institutions (122 facilities), servicing 1 176 396 people, will be repaired in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Almetyevsk and other municipal regions.

Vafin said that standard solutions for overhauling primary health care facilities have already been developed. According to the Minister, they all will be recognizable. 

Answering questions from journalists, Vafin stressed that in 2017-2018, 197 facilities, including 75 facilities in 2017 and 122 facilties in 2018, will be repaired under the programme of modernization of polyclinics in cities and municipal regions.
