Field session of the Governmental commission on emergency prevention and control and fire safety at “Kazan-Arena” stadium

On April 18, during his visit to Kazan, Russian Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Vladimir Puchkov held a field session of the Governmental commission on emergency prevention and control and fire safety at “Kazan-Arena” stadium.

The video conference was held with participation of all territorial entities.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin, Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies Rafis Khabibullin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Petshin, and other officials took part in the event.

Flood prevention measures were the first issue discussed at the session. Russian Deputy Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief reported on the current situation in the country.

The second issue was dedicated to measures on increasing readiness of the Russian System of Prevention and Response to ES for FIFA Confederations Cup 2017.

Director of ANO “Executive directorate of sports projects” Azat Kadyrov made a keynote report. He informed that four matches will be held in Kazan on June 24-28. Much attention is paid to the formation of the so-called “final mile”.

The Executive Committee of Kazan has taken measures on traffic limitation during the matches. Moreover, the preparation of training venues is underway in Kazan. FIFA Accreditation and ticket center will be located at Aquatics Palace near “Kazan-Arena” stadium.

The venue where fans festival will be held is being prepared for FIFA World Cup 2018.

Kadyrov said that the regional operational center will be located at “Kazan-Arena” stadium. It will be connected with the operational center in St.Petersburg.  The center will start working on May 15.

Test matches will be held in Kazan on May 7 and 17. Testing of all services is planned for May 17.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Confederations Cup is a responsible event for the country.
