Members of Tatarstan State Council support the candidacy of Aleksey Pesoshin for the post of Prime Minister of the republic

On April 17, at the 27th meeting of Tatarstan State Council, its members supported the candidacy of Aleksey Pesoshin for the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Before approving a new Prime Minister of the republic, people's deputies took a stand in favor of open voting, which was supported by the majority of members of the parliament.

As many as 87 people's deputies voted for Aleksey Pesoshin, one member voted against his candidature and one people's deputy abstained from voting.

The new head of Tatarstan Government thanked for the confidence and promised to justify it.

The confidence in Aleksey Pesoshin is very important for further prosperity of Tatarstan on a national scale, Tatarstan President Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, when introducing the candidacy of the Prime Minister of the republic at the meeting of the Tatarstan State Council.

Minnikhanov reminded that since 2014 Pesoshin was First Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan. "He was responsible for such important areas as the protection of rights and legal interests of citizens in the housing and utilities sector, emergency management, fire safety in the republic and others," Minnikhanov said.

According to him, whilst with the Government of the republic Pesoshin has proved to be "an efficient and competent leader, a diligent economic executive and a professional."
