Rustam Minnikhanov: Transneft is our strategic partner

On March 16, speaking at an opening ceremony of a new office building of Transneft Kama Region in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Transneft is the republic's strategic partner.

President of Transneft Nikolay Tokarev arrived in Kazan to take part in the event.

"The economy of Tatarstan is based on the oil industry, and everything that is connected with Tatneft and small oil companies goes hand in hand with Transneft," Rustam Minnikhanov said, answering journalists' questions. "We are also an oil refining republic, and today we already have two oil refineries, the third one will be commissioned soon. And, of course, it would be impossible to implement all these projects without simultaneous preparation of all the necessary infrastructure that provides this work," he added.

Minnikhanov also reminded that the republic is a major manufacturer of oil products, which should be transported. "This is Transneft that deals with these tasks. Transneft is our strategic partner," Minnikhanov said.

Moreover, Transneft Kama Region is also the largest taxpayer, which creates new jobs, takes part in a number social projects in the republic, he emphasized.
