Rustam Minnikhanov meets General Director of Federal Passenger Company Peter Ivanov

On March 9, at their meeting at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of Federal Passenger Company Peter Ivanov discussed further cooperation in terms of the development of railway transport, management of long-distance passenger rail travels and other issues. 

Ivanov briefly told Minnikhanov about plans for 2017 and prospects for the development of the Federal Passenger Company, a specialized branch of Russian Railways, in general.

In particular, Ivanov said that it is planned to update railway vehicles because of the growth of passenger traffic and events to be held during the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2017 and the FIFA World Cup in 2018.

Aide to Tatarstan President Albert Nafigin, Minister of Economy of the republic Artem Zdunov, representatives of Ministry of Transport and Roads of Tatarstan, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the meeting.
