President of Austria and Austrian businessmen to visit Kazan

President of Austrian Republic Heinz Fischer and Austrian businessmen are going to visit Kazan in the end of May 2011. The visit to Kazan is planned within the official visit to Russian Federation.

Preparation for the forthcoming event was discussed in House of RT government at the meeting of RT President Rustam Minnikhanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria in Russia Margot Klestil-Loffler.

Opening the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Ms Klestil-Loffler for arrival in Kazan. Head of Tatarstan noted that it is a great privilege for republic to receive President of Austria. “We will manage to make up the program so that the visit is interesting and useful”, - Rustam Minnikhanov addressed the Ambassador.

“Surely we’d like to make use of this visit. Representatives of business community will arrive together with President of Austrian Republic. Thus we will have opportunity to present economic and investmen potential of republic, find new contacts and projects that may be realized jointly”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said.

RT President noted that today cooperation between Austria and Tatarstan is rather successful. In particular, the plant of Austrian company on brick production “Vinerberger” is functioning near Kazan, joint enterprise of “KAMAZ” and German-Austrian Company ZF is working in Naberezhnie Chelny, Austrian banks finance several projects in Tatarstan.

Margot Klestil-Loffler informed that it was her first visit to Kazan as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria in Russia.

By words of Margot Klestil-Loffler, an official visit of President of Austrian Republic Heinz Fischer to Russia is planned for the end of May. “Our President is going to come with large delegation of Austrian businessmen, - 75 representatives of Austrian business. For this reason the visit will be dedicated to economic sector”, - Ms Ambassador informed.

Speaking about prospects of cooperation between Austria and Tatarstan Margot Klestil-Loffler said that currently potential joint projects are being discussed.
