Tatarstan and Tambov Region sign action plan until 2020

On February 28, at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, Tatarsan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Tambov Region Administration Alexander Nikitin signed a plan of action until 2020 aimed at implementing the Agreement between Tatarstan and Tambov region. The plan envisages interaction between ministries and departments in the field of trade and economic cooperation, construction and housing and utilities, health, labour, employment and social protection of the population, computerization and communication, culture, education, sport and tourism. 

At his meeting with Nikitin, Minnikhanov noted the need to intensify joint efforts. According to him, regional economies have the potential to significantly boost cooperation.

Tatarstan supplies vehicles, tires, fertilizers and other products to the Tambov region, while Tatarstan receives mainly foodstuff (sugar, meat, butter, cheese) from the region, he said. Minnikhanov proposed to expand the range of supplies, in particular, providing Tatarstan with berries, fruit crops and other agricultural products.

In his turn Nikitin said that he was interested in high volumes of production of dairy products in Tatarstan. The meeting also discussed experience of Tatarstan in introducing information technologies.
