Aleksey Pesoshin: WorldSkills championship is an efficient tool of increasing the quality and prestige of skilled professions

On February 16, at Kazan construction college, Acting Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin met winners of the regional championship “Young professionals” (WorldSkills Russia).

Upon arrival Pesoshin visited competitive sites and workshops.

Opening the meeting, Pesoshin welcomed winners of the championship on behalf of Tatarstan President and Tatarstan Government. He reminded that WorldSkills Competition will be held in Kazan in 2019.

“Russia should win and our competitors should show best results. That is why leadership of the country and the republic pay careful attention to the development of WorldSkills movement. 84 entities of the country and more than 60,000 competitors and experts are already taking part in the movement,” Aleksey Pesoshin said.

He continued that WorldSkills championship is an efficient tool of increasing the quality and prestige of skilled professions, training of professionals for real sector of economy, development of entrepreneurial spirit and self-sufficiency of young specialists.

Pesoshin informed that the concept for training the competitors in accordance with international standards was developed in 2016. The concept aims to help training leaders of the competition as well as to establish the interaction between state authorities, enterprises and educational system in terms of the development of production and business.

Pesoshin expressed special gratitude to enterprises – partners of the movement, national experts and representatives of WorldSkills Russia for their support in holding the competition at a high organizational level. He also addressed heads of relevant ministries with request to hold meetings with the winners of regional championship and discuss their problems proposals.
