Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is traditionally among regions - leaders of the country in agricultural output

On February 15, speaking at a summary meeting of Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the republic on results of work of the agricultural sector in 2016 and tasks for 2017, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov reported that the gross agricultural output made 238.6 bln roubles in Tatarstan in 2016.

The meeting was held at the Kazanskaya yarmarka exhibition center with participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Before the meeting Minnikhanov, Akhmetov and other officials had visited specialized exhibitions during the Volga Agro-Industrial Forum.

Making a keynote report at the meeting, Akhmetov said that Tatarstan is ranked first in Volga Federal District in the gross agricultural output. Among Russian regions the republic is ranked third after Krasnodar and Rostov, Akhemtov added.

He went on to report that the average wage in the industry amounted to 18,700 roubles in 2016.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov, first of all, expressed his gratitude to villagers, because the success in the agricultural sector was achieved due to their daily work.

«Tatarstan is traditionally among regions - leaders of the country in terms of agricultural output. Last year the gross agricultural output made 238.6 bln rubles, and we are ranked third among Russian regions. In 2015, we were ranked fourth. And, of course, we have set the task to have a growth of not less than five per cent in the agricultural industry," Minnikhanov said.
