Rustam Minnikhanov: Development of transport industry is of great importance for the entire economy of the republic

On January 27, in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an extended joint meeting of the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the republic on results of work of transport industry in 2016 and tasks 2017.

"This year, the meeting is held in Nizhnekamsk. It is one of the key cities in the development of innovation and production center "InnoKam" - a new point of economic growth not only in Tatarstan, but in the whole Russia. The development of transport infrastructure takes the leading place in the concept of "InnoKam"," Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President emphasized that the Kama region continues to implement large-scale investment projects in the petrochemical complex. Launching a delayed coking unit at the TANECO Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex was a significant event, which allowed reaching the "zero” fuel oil index. It is planned to put into operation a complex of deep processing of heavy residues "TAIF-NK", and a plant for primary oil refining CDU-AVT-6 with a capacity of 6 million tonnes per year. In addition, a new ethylene plant EP-600 will be built.

According to Minnikhanov, the construction of the international route "Europe - Western China" is the most important project in the development of the road network.

Minnikhanov said that a lot of work work is being done to develop the road sector of the republic. In paticular, hundreds of kilometers of roads were built and repaired last year.

"The republic has fully fulfilled its obligations to the federal government. This year we will continue the implementation of all the programmes in the transport sector," Tatarstan President summed up.
