Results of mass cultural events during New Year holidays summarized at Tatarstan Government House

On January 10, at a briefing at Tatarstan Government House, First Deputy Minister of youth affairs and sport Khalil Shaikhutdinov told that 180 sports and entertainment campaigns were held during New Year holidays in the republic. Also, 81 thousand people started doing sports.

About 50,000 residents of Kazan came to watch a traditional water show prepared by three-time Olympic synchro swimming champion Maria Kiseleva at the Aquatics Palace. About one thousand events were held in 39 New Year holiday parks in Kazan.

Head of the Department of culture of the Kazan executive committee Azat Abzalov informed that the main idea of New Year holidays was the involvement of city dwellers in interactive programmes.

The most spectacular venues were the Kremlin embankment, “Khan dvor” at the international equestrian complex, “Yurkin park”, and “Gorkinsky” forest park.
