Rustam Minnikhanov holds meeting on regulation of Tatarstan’s alcohol market

On December 17, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting on regulation of Tatarstan’s alcohol market. Russian Minister of Finances Anton Siluanov, Director of the Department for tax and customs policy of the Russian Ministry of Finances Aleksey Sazanov and other officials attended the meeting.

Different proposals on toughening of the punishment for violations in alcohol market were announced at the meeting.

Head of the State Alcohol Inspectorate of the Republic of Tatarstan Igor Marchenko informed that more than 2,6 thousand violations were revealed from the beginning of the year. Almost half of them are connected with unlicensed work, turnover of unlabelled and fake alcohol products.

Marchenko offered to toughen the punishment and set a penalty of 30-50 thousand roubles for physical entities and 65-100 thousand roubles for legal entities.

Participants of the meeting also discussed provision of remote settlements of the republic with alcohol products.
