Ildar Khalikov at the contest “Leader of Tourism”: Tatarstan is already recognized as a tourist region, and I hope this trend will continue to be developed

On December 16, at the Kazan City Hall, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov took part in a ceremony of awarding winners of regional contest “Leader of Tourism”.

The main purpose of the contest is to find out the best participants and areas of the tourist market, integrate and encourage tourist industry efforts to create modern highly effective and competitive tourist complex in Tatarstan, providing a significant contribution to the development of the regional economy. 

Tourist enterprises, museums and museum-reserves of the republic, educational institutions in tourism, regional municipalities, tourism infrastructure organizations - hotels, entertainment complexes, catering and souvenir companies are taking part in the contest.

In his welcoming speech Khalikov expressed his hope that one day the tourism will catch up with such industries as oil production and petrochemicals in the republic.

“Tatarstan is already recognized as a tourist region, and I hope this trend will continue to be developed,” Khalikov said.
