Tatarstan-Turkey business forum with participation of Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirm and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held in Kazan

On December 7, Tatarstan-Turkey business forum was held at the Kazan City Hall. The main topic of the forum was the warming of relations between Russia and Turkey and prospects of their development.

The event was held during the visit of Binali Yildirm and the Turkish delegation to Tatarstan.

Before the forum, the Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev presented the project of Bolgar Islamic Academy and the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov and Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina presented investment, economic and industrial potential of Tatarstan.

Karimov said that Turkey takes the first place by the number of joint enterprises in Tatarstan. Every 5th enterprise in the republic is Turkish.

Binali Yildirm said that the Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci is a frequent guest in Tatarstan and expressed his confidence that the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Turkey will be increasing.

Mr Binali Yildirm called for increasing the number of direct flights between the countries and informed that the work on cancellation of Russian sanctions against Turkish products is underway.

Nihat Zeybekci expressed his confidence that the detailed negotiations on joint projects will be held next week during the visit of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Ankara.
