11.02.2011

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Russian Federation Petr Kolář today.

“We have been cooperating with Tatarstan fruitfully and successfully for a long time. Our entrepreneurs know that your republic has an enormous potential,” Ambassador of Czechia Petr Kolář said at the meeting with journalists.

Talking about the projects that are being realized, Petr Kolář informed that Czech entrepreneurs were building a trade center in Kazan. There is also a joint project of constructing an emergency hospital in Tatarstan. Czech buses will be supplied for the Universiade to the capital.

“Czechia is a strategic partner of Tatarstan. Almost the whole center of Kazan is illuminated with masts produced by a Czech firm. Czechia for us is a kind of a gate to Europe,” RT President’s aide Iskander Muflikhanov said.

The Czech Republic Ambassador’s visit program includes meetings at RT President’s Administration Department of International Relations, Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Commerce, visits to Kazan Federal University, “Idea” technopark and IT-Park, technopolis “Khimgrad”, and also attending the gala-concert of Shalyapin International opera Festival.

Petr Kolář was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Russian Federation in 2010. It is his first visit to Kazan.
