The system of drug consumption tests may be changed in Tatarstan
03.02.2011Kafil Amirov, the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Tatarstan, suggested that we need to change strategy of conducting drug consumption tests. Today, he reported it during the joint session of the counter-drugs commission in the Republic of Tatarstan and collegium of Directorate of the Federal Service of the Russian Federation for the Control of Drug Trafficking in the Republic of Tatarstan.
The session was held in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan with participation of Rustam Minnikhanov, the RT President, in videoconferencing mode connecting all municipal districts.
Kafil Amirov noticed that, traditionally, pupils and students know beforehand when drug consumption tests will be conducted, so they can deviate from them. Those, who really use drugs, either, are absent from school or university this day, or take someone’s biological material for the test.
He also claimed that he supports the proposal of Rustam Minnikhanov that it is time to change the system of drug consumption tests in order to make them efficient.
Besides, Kafil Amirov considers that today we need to help young generation that once used drugs, but not became dependent on them. “We should actively work with those, who are not drug abusers”, - the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Tatarstan said.
Kafil Amirov also proposed to make teachers our allies in the struggle against drugs. Everyone should be involved in solving this problem.
“Drug abusers can sell addicting drugs themselves, because they earn money for the next doze.” - the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Tatarstan said. For example, he told about pensioners (78 year-old woman), coach of hockey club and taxi driver, who distributed drugs.
RT President Rustam Minnikhanov claimed that today our legislation should be more rigorous towards those citizens, who distribute addicting grugs.
