New project “Tatarstan Resident's Card” presented to Rustam Minnikhanov and German Gref in Zelenodolsk

On October 13, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Board Chairman of Sberbank of Russia German Gref paid a working visit to Zelenodolsk, where at the Sberbank office a new project “Tatarstan Resident's Card" was presented.

Under this project, residents will be issued multifunctional plastic cards with payment, social and transportation applications.

Minister of Information and Communication of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov reported in details about the new payment system. Thus, the banking application is designed for transferring and saving money (salaries, pensions, allowances, etc.), making contactless payments for goods and services.

This project is being implemented by Tatarstan Government in cooperation with Master Card international payment system, Sberbank and Ak Bars Bank.

Cards are issued free of charge. At the first stage of the project about 75,000 residents will receive cards.
